Dear Parent/Guardian of UNMS
Senior:
The UNMS Senior Prom is just
around the corner! Our prom committee, under the direction of the UNMS PTA has
been hard at work planning this evening. It's going to be a grand event!
DATE & TIME: Saturday, June 14th, 2014
from 4 PM – 8 PM
Prom will begin at 4 PM and
end at 8 PM. Students need to arrive no later than 4:30 PM
and may not leave BEFORE 8
PM unless received in writing by Thursday, June 12th . Students
are not permitted to leave the prom at any time for any reason.
LOCATION: The prom will take
place at a local community room located at 275 Cherry Street. (Note: there is a security guard on site 24 hours.)
COST/PAYMENT: The cost of the
prom is included in Senior Dues. Tickets will be given to students upon return
of the permission slip.
SUPERVISION: The Prom will be site supervised by the
PTA President Ms. Erica Washington, the PTA Treasurer, Ms. Bernadette Perez, as
well as other PTA prom committee members.
There is a 24-hour security guard on site as well. The prom will be chaperoned by UNMS
teachers. If you have any
additional questions or concerns about supervision please email the PTA
President at 2013ptapresident@unmslearns.net
PERMISSION SLIP: Attached to
this document you will find the Prom permission slip. Prom tickets will be distributed to students when the
permission slip is completed and returned. A permission slip is completed when it has the required
signatures, parent/guardian contact information and is returned to the Main
Office (to Ms. Hannah) no later than Thursday, June 12th, end of
school day (2:55PM).
· SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT GUESTS: Because of the size of the Senior
Class, and the off-school location, there will be no additional guests allowed
to attend the UNMS Senior Prom
DRESS CODE: Students are expected to dress in
semi-formal attire. Boys
typically wear a jacket, trousers, vest and tie to a semi formal event, girls
typically wear a dress that goes to the knee.

no jeans, sneakers, Timberlands, caps, hats, shorts, t-shirts and tank top
t-shirts (both boys and girls)
EXPECTATIONS: The UNMS PTA
worked hard to make this an enjoyable evening, and we hope that your child will
find it a truly memorable one.
The expectation is that
everyone attending the prom will adhere to all school behavior expectations. In
our experience, prom is a lovely, wholesome occasion. We fully expect your
children and our UNMS students to exercise good judgment, in behavior, attitude
and dress. The goal is to have a
positive experience and lasting memories!

El baile de graduación de
UNMS está a la vuelta de la esquina! Nuestro comité de baile , bajo la
dirección de el PTA de UNMS ha estado trabajando duro en la planificación del
trabajo de esta noche. Va a ser un gran evento!
FECHA Y HORA: Sábado, 14 de
junio 2014 de 4:00 – 8:00 PM
El baile comenzará a las 4:00
y finalizará a las 8:00 . Los estudiantes tienen que llegar no antes de las 4:30.
y no podrá salir antes de 8:00
al menos que sea recibido por escrito antes del jueves 12 de Junio. Los
estudiantes no se les permite salir de la fiesta de graduación , en cualquier
momento y por cualquier razón.
UBICACIÓN : El baile de
graduación se llevará a cabo en una sala de la comunidad local ubicada en el
275 Cherry Street . (Nota: hay un guardia de seguridad en el sitio las 24
horas. )
COSTO / PAGO: El costo de la
fiesta de graduación está incluido en cuotas superiores . Los boletos serán
entregados a los estudiantes al regreso de la hoja de permiso .

PERMISO : Adjunto a este
documento se encuentra la hoja de permiso de baile . Boletos de baile serán

devuelto . Un permiso se considera completo cuando que tiene las firmas

la oficina principal ( a la Sra. Hannah ) a más tardar el Jueves 12 de Junio al
final del día escolar ( 3:05 ) .
• NOTA ESPECIAL SOBRE
PERSONAS : Debido al tamaño de la clase mayor , y la ubicación fuera de la
escuela, no habrá ningún huésped adicional permitido asistir al Baile de Graduación de UNMS.
VESTIMENTA : Se espera que
los estudiantes se vistan con ropa semi - formal. Los niños suelen llevar una
chaqueta , pantalón , chaleco y corbata a un evento semi formal, las niñas suelen
llevar un vestido que va a la rodilla.
• Por favor, no maones , tenis,
Timberlands , gorras, sombreros , pantalones cortos, camisetas y tanque
superior camisetas ( niños y niñas )
EXPECTATIVAS : El PTA de UNMS
trabajó duro para hacer de esta una noche agradable , y esperamos que su hijo
encontrará una experiencia memorable .
La expectativa es que todos
los asistentes al baile de graduación se adherirá a todas las expectativas de
conducta de la escuela . En nuestra experiencia, el baile es una preciosa ,
ocasión sana . Tenemos plena confianza en sus hijos y nuestros alumnos de UNMS
para ejercer el buen juicio, en el comportamiento, actitud y vestimenta. El
objetivo es tener una experiencia positiva y recuerdos duraderos !

Comité de Baile de el PTA de UNMS
UNMS now offers tutoring before school at 7:15 am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Permission slips for tutoring have been sent home today (3/10/14) with students. We have also given students your parent Learning Environment Survey. Please complete it, place it in the white envelope provided, and have your child return it by Wednesday, March 12th. Parent response rate last year was 91%, the highest in District 1. Let's exceed last year, and work towards 100% participation. Permission slips for school trips on this Friday, March 14th, are included with the survey. Permission slips are also due back to teachers on Wednesday, March 12th. Please be careful and DO NOT INCLUDE permission slips in the white survey envelope. Send them along with the survey by Wednesday. If you have any questions please contact Ms. Hannah at 212.267.5701 extension 475.
La escuela UNMS esta ofreciendo tutoria antes que comienze la escuela, a las 7:15 am, los Lunes, Miercoles y Jueves. Hojas de permiso para la tutoria han sido enviadas hoy (3/10/14) con los estudiantes. Tambien les entregamos a los estudiantes la encuesta del Ambiente de Aprendizaje para los padres. por favor completelo pongalo en el sobre blanco que se le ha proporcionado, y entregueselo a su hijo/a para que lo devuelva a la escuela no mas tardado del el Miercoles 12 de Marzo. El año pasado, el promedio de respuestas de los padres fue 91% el mas alto en Distrito 1, y vamos a superar el promedio del año pasado y trabajemos hacia un 100% de participacion. Tambien, le hemos enviado hojas de permisos para los paseos de la escuela este Viernes 14 de Marzo. Estos permisos tambien deben ser devuelto a los maestros el Miercoles 12 de Marzo. Por favor tenga mucho cuidado de no poner el permiso de el paseo en el sobre blanco con la encuesta. Envielo por separado el Miercoles, 12 de Marzo. SLT News The UNMS School Leadership Team (SLT) and the PTA/Title 1 PAC conduct an annual review of the School Parent Involvement Policy and the School Parent Compact. Please review this policy (click to read) and submit in the form below. You can also submit hard copy feedback. Forms available with Ms. Hannah in the main office. All comments and feedback will be considered when reviewing these Title 1 policies, and the revised document will be presented and voted on at the December 2013 SLT meeting.
